ASIST Delegates Visits Taiwan Universities
A five-member delegation from the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) had a trip to Taiwan on February 17 – 22, 2019 for bench-marking purposes. The group visited the National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), the Chung Yuan Christian University (CYCU), and the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology(NKUST). And the delegation had a meeting with officials of the said universities. The meetings resulted in series of initial talks regarding possible collaborative researches, exchange of students, scholarships for both faculty and students, among others. It was agreed with the Taiwan university officials that they would just wait for correspondence and communications for possible agreements.
ASIST Hurdles ISO 9001:2015 Certification Audit… Awaits ISO Certificate
“What a great way to end 2018, and a great way to welcome 2019,” exclaimed the College President, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza, Jr. in his Closing Remarks of the Closing Program of the ISO 9001:2015 Stage 2 Certification Audit last December 27, 2018. The President’s expression came after Mr. Eugene B. Herradura, the Management System Auditor from the AJA Registrars, Inc., revealed that he will recommend the certification of the three frontline services of the ASIST, namely: the Guidance Office, the Library, and the Registrar’s Office.
ASIST Celebrates 110th Foundation Day
Celebrating 110th years of educational excellence with its unique self-paced, ASIST has added another year of quality and holistic education with the theme ‘’Intensifying Program Quality through Enhanced Processes and Procedures towards ASIST University hood.’’ And what better way can we show our gratitude for the eleven decades of academic success than celebrating a thanksgiving mass attended by the ASISTians and led by no other than the Bishop of the Diocese of Bangued, Most Reverend Leopoldo C. Jaucian SVD, D.D last December 18, 2018 hosted this year by the Bangued Campus.
5 researches presented in 3 international conferences; Prof. Talledo wins Best Research Paper
In pursuit of its vision as a premiere college in the Cordillera Administrative Region and its effort to become a state university in Abra, ASIST collected another feather in the cap as five researches were presented recently in three international conferences. Among them, one won the Best Research Paper Award, another was a contender as finalist in the Social Science category, and the three shall be published in a Scopus-indexed journal.
ASIST conducts a Strategic Planning Training Workshop
The ASIST Strategic Planning Training Workshop was attended by the ASIST academic and administrative officials on November 8-9, 2018 at the Lafaayette, Luxury Suites Resort, Bauang, La Union with a theme “Teamwork makes the dream work”.

ASIST Granted with 14 COPC
It is with utmost humility that I would like to report to all the stakeholders of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) that the fourteen (14) Curricular Programs of the ASIST had already been granted Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722 or the “Higher Education Act of 1994.” This is one big step towards the attainment of the university status of the institution.
