Celebrating 110th years of educational excellence with its unique self-paced, ASIST has added another year of quality and holistic education with the theme ‘’Intensifying Program Quality through Enhanced Processes and Procedures towards ASIST University hood.’’ And what better way can we show our gratitude for the eleven decades of academic success than celebrating a thanksgiving mass attended by the ASISTians and led by no other than the Bishop of the Diocese of Bangued, Most Reverend Leopoldo C. Jaucian SVD, D.D last December 18, 2018 hosted this year by the Bangued Campus.
The joyful music and decorations brought about the festive ambiance of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology community perked up the ASISTians after the non-stop blessing given by Congressman Joseph Sto. Niño “JB” Bernos, who was the Guest of Honor and Speaker of the said occasion. One of the major highlights of this celebration is the Inauguration and Ribbon-Cutting of the Central Laboratory building, VIT building, and the ASIST Bangued Dormitory. These projects were funded through the initiative of Cong. JB. The existence of these buildings gives a message that there is nothing more important than the education that we provide to our young. Thus, ASIST offers the right facilities that give students opportunity to learn.
The second part of the foundation day was given to the stars of ASIST- loyalty awardees from the Faculty and Administrative support personnel of both campuses. Passionate, dedicated, loyal – these words may fit, but will not be enough to describe this year’s awardees who have proven, once again, that they deserve the honor given to them. They epitomize true service to the institution and ASIST never fails to pay back those fruitful years of service rendered by our dear awardees.
This year, the awarding was held at the Gabaldon building in Bangued Campus in celebration of the 110th Founding Anniversary of the College and in commemoration of the loyalty service awardees attended by all ASIST faculty and employees. The awardees, as well as the faculty and employees, donned nice dresses to match this year’s corporate motif and the renaissance ambiance of the building. It was indeed a breath of fresh air seeing our ASIST faculty and employees looking so elegant and fabulous.
And as by tradition, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., ASIST President delivered his message and challenged everyone to think of the best, work for the best and expect only the best for the said institution. He welcomed the awardees who had their own shining moments as they walked on the center aisle and received their awards given by our school administrators. This year’s one-day celebration was still a huge success with the cooperation of the students and facilitators. This has become a favorite ASIST tradition, and one we look forward to greatly each year. [Jude Mark Tejero]
