The ASIST FACEMASK PRODUCTION Project produced 23, 760 pieces washable facemasks. It was conducted to provide basic Personal Protective Equipment to front liners against the Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19). The project was funded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED-CAR).

Bersheeba L. Taclawan, Project Leader, said that the facemasks were made out of Abel cloth (Outer Part) from the Loom weaving Village of La Paz, Abra, and cotton cloth (Inner part) with filter pocket. The facemasks were distributed to the Philippine National Police, Municipal Health Unit and Barangay Local Government Unit Officials in the selected municipalities in the province namely; Lagangilang, Dolores, San Juan, Tayum and Bucay. The ASIST faculty, employees and students in both campuses were also given the sewn facemasks.

Taclawan also said that graduates of the Home Technology Department of ASIST were in charge of the production of facemasks for the identified beneficiaries. [BLTaclawan]
