“What a great way to end 2018, and a great way to welcome 2019,” exclaimed the College President, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza, Jr. in his Closing Remarks of the Closing Program of the ISO 9001:2015 Stage 2 Certification Audit last December 28, 2018. The President’s expression came after Mr. Eugene B. Herradura, the Management System Auditor from the AJA Registrars, Inc., revealed that

he will recommend the certification of the three frontline services of the ASIST, namely: the Guidance Office, the Library, and the Registrar’s Office.

The ASIST ISO Team shared the joy felt by the College President as they, too, witnessed the revelation of Mr. Herradura after presenting the findings of the audit. The ASIST ISO Team is composed of the following: Quality Council Chairman, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza, Jr.; Deputy Quality Council Chairman, Dr. Noel B. The ISO Certification dream of the ASIST had a long journey. It started in 2014 during the term of the immediate past President, Dr. Aurelio V. Labanen, and the time of Dr. Pablo B. Bose, Jr. as the Executive Dean of the Lagangilang Campus and concurrent Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) Focal Person. Here are some highlights of the ASIST journey to ISO Certification:

December 19, 2018 – Special Quality Management Review

December 28, 2018 – Stage 2 External Audit by AJA Registrars Inc.

The ISO 9001:2015 Stage 1 Certification Audit was done in December 3, 2018 by Mr. Erwin F. Quinto, a Management Systems Auditor of the AJA Registrars, Inc. He recommended ASIST to be eligible for the Stage 2 Audit after his positive findings.

And of course, the ISO journey was guided by Engr. Joselito and Engr. Angelica Fraginal of the ACF Consultants. Without their patience and guidance, passing the certification audits would not have been realized.

The ISO Certification is not the end, it is just the start of adhering to international standards and a step to the ASIST dream of university-hood.[eblazo]
