Upholding the vision of Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology to be a University, at least 3 undergraduate academic Programs in the Lagangilang Campus and 6 graduate programs in the Bangued Campus underwent the Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Accreditation Survey Visit last November 6-8, 2019.
The graduate programs surveyed under Level I in the Bangued Campus were as follows: Master of Arts in Mathematics, Master of Arts in General Science, Master of Arts in English, Master of Arts in Filipino, Master of Arts in Education and Master of Arts in Agricultural Education. While, Bachelor of Science in Biology, Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology in the Lagangilang Campus were also visited for Level III Phase I.
Finally, the three undergraduate and six graduate programs have respectively passed their accreditation levels. The result was confirmed by the AACCUP President Dr. Manuel T. Corpus through a report furnished by the agency’s Technical Review and Board Action to the institution last December 26, 2019. The AACCUP accreditors evaluated the programs based on the Outcome-Based Quality Assurance Instrument composed of ten areas: vision, mission, goals and objectives (VGMO); faculty; curriculum and instruction; support to students; research; extension and community involvement; library; physical plant and facilities; laboratories; and administration.
The AACCUP Accreditation Survey Team was led by its Overall Coordinator Dr. Eunice B. Custodio with Dr. Marcela T. Caluscosin-DMMMSU as Cluster Coordinator for Bangued Campus and Dr. Fe S. Soriano-PangSU as Cluster Coordinator for Lagangilang Campus. Team Leaders for the graduate programs were: Dr. Alberto T. Yazon – LPSU for MA in Mathematics, Prof. Maria Cristina J. Baesa -CavSU for MA General Science, Prof. Joel M. Torres – CLSU; Prof. Geraldine G. Gonzaga -ISPSC for MA Filipino; Dr. Roselyn A Ymana – CavSU; for MA in Education and Dr. Mila R. Andres – ISU. And, team leaders for the undergraduate were as follows: Dr. Richard F. Clemente- BulSU for BS Biology, Dr. Corazon M. Cudla- NVSU for BS Mathematics and Dr. Eunice B Custutdio- BulSU for the BSIT.
