The University of Abra (UA) Board of Trustees (BOT) convenes during the 171st Regular BOT Meeting held earlier today, February 3, 2023 at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office, Diliman, Quezon City.
UA BOT Chairperson, CHED Commissioner Hon. Marita R. Canapi, presided over the meeting with UA President and BOT Vice Chairperson, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., joined by House of Representatives Committee on Higher and Technical Education Chairperson Hon. Mark O. Go Representative and Abra Lone District Representative, Hon. Congresswoman Menchie B. Bernos, Senate Committee on Higher and Technical Education Chairperson Sen. Francis G. Escudero Representative, Hon. Patrocinio B. Abaya Jr., NEDA-CAR Regional Director, Dir. Susan A. Sumbeling, DOST-CAR Regional Director, Dir. Nancy A. Bantog, CHED-CAR Regional Director, Dir. Demetrio P. Anduyan Jr., Faculty Federation President, Trustee Michelle Melinda B. Alzate, Student Federation President, Trustee Krizel Valeros, and UA College and Board Secretary, Mr. Elizier B. Lazo.
The agenda of the meeting tackled projects and policies that will continue to support the welfare of all UA stakeholders, especially students and faculty members. Also present during the meeting, who served as resource persons, were UA Research, Development and Planning Director, Dr. Pablo B. Bose Jr., and Research, Development and Planning Deputy, Dr. Nero M. Paderes.
