The trend for global competitiveness is the force that keeps people moving to raise education standards. Today, globalization has had a significant impact on education, and ISO certification is an indicator of quality excellence.
Through the leadership and support of the President, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Noel Begnalen, and the Quality Assurance Director, Dr. Mary Joan T. Guzman, the Training Workshop on Internal Quality Audit, Document Control and Records Management on December 2-6, 2024, at the ASIST Training and Development Center was made possible.
The training aimed to enhance the participants’ knowledge and skills in maintaining high standards of quality management within the organization. Such activities are vital to ISO visit evaluation, which determines conformity structure and improves the organization's processes.
The workshop was attended by 40 participants, including prospective internal quality auditors, document controllers, records managers, and other key personnel from various departments within the organization. The diverse group of attendees facilitated a rich exchange of ideas and experiences.
The first part of the workshop focused on internal quality audits. An experienced quality auditor, Engr. Angelica Fraginal of ACF Consultancy and Training Services, led the session and introduced the principles and objectives of internal quality audits. Participants engaged in practical exercises, including mock audits, to apply the concepts learned. The interactive sessions allowed participants to practice their auditing skills and receive feedback from the facilitator.
The second part focused on document control and records management. Mr. Joselito Fraginal, also from the ACF Consultancy and Training services, facilitated the sessions, which included discussions on effective records management, classification and retention of records, strategies for storage, retrieval, and disposal of records, and the importance of document control in maintaining quality standards.
The Training Workshop on Internal Quality Audit, Document Control, and Records Management was a resounding success. Participants gained valuable insights and practical skills that will enhance the quality management processes within the organization. The expert facilitation and interactive format met the learning objectives, resulting in overwhelmingly positive feedback from the participants.
