The Bachelor of Secondary Education – Social Studies program of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) proudly participated in the KASiklaban Quiz Bee 2025, held on August 1, 2025, at Gateway Mall 2, Quezon City.
The delegation comprised Jo Hanes A. Tugadi, Hannah A. Alcalde, Angelica Feigh M. Tacis, Camille B. Mandigma, and Precious Lara G. Pacsa. They were coached by Mr. Francis Dave N. Mabborang.
This prestigious national competition, organized by the National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP), brought together students from colleges and universities across the country to celebrate Philippine history and heritage.
The competition featured two stages: an elimination round and a final round. Although the ASIST representatives did not advance to the finals, they delivered a commendable performance in the elimination round—finishing only a few points short of qualifying and ensuring none of them placed last in the overall standings.
KASiklaban is a national quiz bee that aims to promote historical awareness and appreciation of the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage. Organized by the NHCP, the event challenges participants with rigorous questions on Philippine history, culture, and heritage, fostering academic excellence and national pride among future educators and leaders.
