Students from our ICT Department proudly represented the college at AI.DEAS for Impact 2025: AI for Developing Ethical and Applicable Solutions, held last August 28–29, 2025 at the Newtown Plaza Hotel, Baguio City.
Out of 30 entries across CAR, our team InnovASIST emerged as one of the Top 10 Finalists to advance to the finals. The event was a regional AI hackathon organized under the DICT-CAR SET PH Program, bringing together the brightest minds from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).
The main purpose of the hackathon was to pitch innovative AI-driven solutions addressing three major areas: Traffic, Healthcare System, and Trabahong Digital. Our team boldly chose Trabahong Digital, aiming to provide opportunities and digital-based solutions that tackle employment challenges in the region.
On the first day, teams had the chance to present their proposals to startup founders, who gave valuable feedback to further refine and improve the ideas. By the last day, all teams pitched their final solutions to a panel of judges, showcasing their creativity, technical skills, and innovative thinking.
Team InnovASIST is composed of:
•Cathrina Lapuz
•Rossellah Marie Bodaño
•Mark Daluson
•Abigail Ola
•John Rix Domaoal
with their mentor Mr. Marvin Alingasa.
Our representatives competed against strong teams from the University of the Cordilleras, Saint Louis University, University of Baguio, and Kalinga State University.
Although our team did not land in the Top 3, this achievement proves that our students have the skills, confidence, and determination to stand side by side with some of the biggest universities in the region. This milestone serves as both motivation and a challenge—to continue growing, innovating, and aiming higher.
We are proud of you, InnovASIST!
