The ASIST Strategic Planning Training Workshop was attended by the ASIST academic and administrative officials on November 8-9, 2018 at the Lafaayette, Luxury Suites Resort, Bauang, La Union with a theme “Teamwork makes the dream work”.
President Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr. challenged the team to work hard to achieve academic excellence of the institution as gateway to attain its university status. The resource speakers of the two-day seminar-training were: Dr. Milagros A. Rimando, Director, NEDA CAR (Planning the Plan -Briefing and levelling of expectations in provincial and regional), Dr. Ma. Geraldine F. Casipit, OIC Director, CHED CAR (Briefing on the Higher Education Reform), Nicasion S. Bucas, Senior Science Research Specialist DA, CAR (Briefing on the Research & Development for Practical and Commercial Application) and Dir. Luisa S. Valencia, Director IV, CHED Central Office (SUC Governance).
Workshops were also part of the three-day activity and the first workshop was facilitated by Mr. Milandro B. Edwin who shared on the environmental Scanning Plenary Presentation Consolidated Internal SWOT Analysis Report. The second workshop was facilitated by Dr. Noel B. Begnalen which is the Updating the ASIST Vision, Mission and Goals. Prof. Elizer B Lazo handled the third workshop which is Formulating the Objectives and Metrics while Dr. Pablo B. Bose Jr. lead the workshop 4 which is Working the Plan, Financing the Plan, Monitoring and Evaluation of the Plan, Sectoral and Campus Plans.
After the 2 day seminar – training, the unit heads, academic and administrative officials pledged for a more committed pursuit of transforming ASIST to University of Abra.
