????????, ?????? ????? – The Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) headed by its President, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., and Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Noel B. Begnalen, with Curriculum and Instructional Materials Development Director, Dr. Maria Rebecca B. Talledo, and GAD Focal Person and Academic Coordinator - La Paz, Campus, Ms. Hazel T. Bersamira, conducted its curriculum review focused on the alignment of courses, international standards, and gender mainstreaming on July 25-26, 2022 at the Playa Tropical Resort Hotel, Currimao, Ilocos Norte.
Being the sole state higher education institution in Abra, ASIST is committed in developing academically competitive, locally responsive, and globally sustainable graduates. This commitment was intensified through the recently concluded curriculum review that centered in evaluating how current program curricula address the highly developing needs of 21st century education, rapidly changing demands of various industries or the Industrial Revolution (IR) 4.0, and United Nations Sustainable Development Goals which inevitably and appropriately includes international standards and gender mainstreaming. Vertical alignment of faculty members, gender mainstreaming in the curricula, Cordillera Heritage 101, uniformity of general education courses, and alignment of curriculum to its CMO and international standards were the main topics of the 2-day training/workshop.
