Hon. Chavit C. Castro, ABC Federation President of Abra, met with Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., ASIST President, earlier today, August 23, 2022, despite the weather warnings relative to Typhoon Florita.

The meeting focused on the welfare of students affiliated to the different indigenous groups in Abra, especially of the Binongan Tribe from the Municipality of Baay-Licuan. Dr. Turqueza welcomed SP Castro with the eagerness to address concerns and opportunities for indigenous students and their communities and the institution. Dr. Turqueza reiterated that ASIST serves and will remain as a second home for all students regardless of their ethnicity, gender preferences, religious beliefs, and political inclinations. Thus, it is just and proper to attend to their needs and to secure a learning environment that holistically guides in shaping their character and goals in life for the future we envision to achieve.
