𝘓𝘈𝘎𝘈𝘕𝘎𝘐𝘓𝘈𝘕𝘎 – As a sole state university in the Province of Abra, administrators, directors, and department/unit heads of the University of Abra (UA) participated in the orientation on Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM) held at the ASIST Training and Development Center, Main Campus, Lagangilang, Abra last September 20, 2022.
In his message to the leaders and managers of the institution, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza Jr., ASIST President, reiterated that the orientation program aims to introduce the institutionalized program in the College and have the organization be in cognizant of it. Additionally, PRIME-HRM is still part of the 10-year overarching theme of the Civil Service Commission for its anniversary celebration as it recognizes the ability and competence of the people. Dr. Turqueza also reminded that everyone in the organization is a hero because of their ability and competence to serve.
 
Atty. Emily Balungay, Civil Service Commission Abra Field Office Director II, supported the message of Dr. Turqueza through highlighting UA as a sole state university in the province. Atty. Balungay explained that PRIME-HRM involves the entire agency and not an exclusive responsibility of the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO). The Agency Head being the PRIME-HRM Champion, serves as the reinforcer. Line Managers serve as the movers for having direct interaction and knowing the strengths and opportunities of their people leading to their transformation. Thus, PRIME-HRM is everybody’s business and a journey and process that is doable and must be enjoyed through teamwork.
 
Meanwhile, Ms. May Bañez, Civil Service Commission Abra Field Office HR Specialist II, facilitated the Guided Self-Assessment Workshop. During this moment, the participants joined altogether in assessing the status of ASIST in terms of its respective systems, practices, and competencies.
 
The one-day orientation/workshop demonstrated ASIST’s continuous pursuit in improving its services for all its stakeholders through constant trainings and advancements focused on one of its main assets, its people.
