The MOA signing between Abra State Institute of Science and Technology (ASIST) with the National Apiculture Research Training and Development Institute (NARTDI) at Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), Bacnotan, La Union last February 13, 2025 is a fundamental step in recognizing apiculture as a crucial element of agriculture, particularly in the pollination of cross pollinated crops such as fruit trees, vegetables, cereals, vine crops, grasses and shrubs, ensuring their maximum yield potentials and perpetuation of wild plant species; and offering nutritious and medicinal products while aligning with the farming practices prevalent among Filipino farmers.
ASIST Hosts Inabel ti Abra 2025 Exhibit and Fashion Show

The Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology successfully hosts the 2025 Inabel ti Abra Exhibit and Fashion Show in partnership with DTI, DOST, PIA, and Asian Livelihood Network. The Two-day affair aimed to display the province’s indigenous woven fabrics and establish collaboration with Japan’s Banshu-ori, a traditional method of textile production. This collaboration was headed by ASIST’s President, Dr. Gregorio T. Turqueza and ALN’s Director, Dr. Mami Kagawa.
ASEAN Fusion 2024: Bridging Cultures and Celebrating Achievements

The 57th founding anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was celebrated in September 2024 with a month-long series of events that culminated in the ASEAN Fusion 2024, organized by the International Affairs and Linkages Office (IALO) of Ifugao State University (IFSU). The celebration was not only a milestone in ASEAN’s long-standing cooperation but also an opportunity to highlight the importance of cross-cultural communication and regional unity. The ASEAN Fusion 2024 forum, held on September 5, was an academic gathering aimed at fostering connections among ASEAN youth while showcasing the rich cultural diversity within the region.
Enhancing Water Access in Abra Through Solar-Powered Drinking Stations

The Solar-Powered Drinking Station Extension Program was launched on September 28, 2024 by the Engineering Department of the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology (ASIST) in collaboration with its Extension and Training Services Office. taking place in Brgy. San Gregorio Elementary School (SGES). The program's goal was to provide clean and sustainable water access to the people of San Gregorio, La Paz, and Abra. This creative project, in which fifty locals took part, is in line with the Philippines' Ambisyon Natin 2040 vision and the Sustainable Development Goals of the UN, especially SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation).
